Liuzhou SUS Waste-to-Energy Power Plant


Located in the Liuzhou Jingmai Industrial Park, this project, as a new-generation waste-to-energy power plant, requires a completely new image to enter the public eye and break the NIMBY effect. Gaining local recognition and affection is particularly important. This scheme attempts to integrate the imagery of Liuzhou's city flower, the Bauhinia, and the honeycomb into the building facade. A white gradient honeycomb curtain wall wraps the podium of the plant, with soft concave-convex patterns forming honeycomb and petal accents. The curtain wall uses hexagonal units with four different opening sizes, corresponding to four gradient colours to create a "profusion of falling petals" facade effect. The main body of the plant is wrapped in wavy aluminium panels, forming a unique background texture. By locally interspersing hexagonal curtain wall units that echo the podium elements, the design effectively controls construction costs while ensuring facade richness.
