The inspiration of Silk Cloud Library originates from our perception of the local natural climate and the survival wisdom of the ancestors. An array of cloud-like luminous louvers are suspended from the ceiling, and under the ¡®cloud¡¯ is a three-stepped reading area with contoured outlines. The building is enveloped with a 360-degree panoramic glass facade, creating a natural transition from the indoor reading space to the outdoor water surface and the park. In addition, the ground floor of the building is sunk by 0.75m, so that the indoor desks by the glass facade are in the same height with the outdoor water surface and the lawn forming a coplanar extension. In a sensitive and poetic way, the people, architecture and nature harmonize with one another composing a beautiful concerto.
